We're One Week Away, So Get with the Program!

The 2017 CCTM Annual Conference begins in just one short week! We're very excited to welcome you all to the University of Denver for two days of learning, collaborating, and fun.

Our Schedule-at-a-Glance and full programs are now available online to help you prepare for what promises to be a very busy Friday. Our program committee has worked to select a variety of sessions across our five conference strands: Teaching & Learning, Access & Equity, Tools & Technology, Professionalism, and Assessment. So "get with the program" and make your plans for the big day!

Featured Speaker: Geoff Krall

Joining our list of featured speakers at this year's conference is Colorado's own Geoff Krall.

Geoff has no trouble attracting a packed house for his sessions at the NCTM Annual Meeting, and for good reason -- his presentations are fun, informative, and full of useful ideas. Geoff is a Math and School Development Coach for the New Tech Network, where he helped pioneer Problem-Based Learning in the network and supported it so that is now New Tech's primary pedagogical approach. He lives in Fort Collins with his wife, two children, two cats, and two chickens. Geoff is writing a book for Stenhouse Publishers, and you can keep up with his other writings on his blog, emergentmath.com.

Geoff will be the final featured speaker on Friday, where he'll talk about using student artifacts as data. You can see him and all the other featured speakers at this year's conference, but first you need to register -- so do it today if you haven't already!

Annual Conference Workshops

For more depth than your typical conference session, CCTM has two workshops on Thursday, September 14th. The first workshop is aimed at teacher leaders, while the second one is focused on teachers.

This year we are excited that our own Joanie Funderburk will be leading the leader workshop, while Dr. Amanda Jansen will be leading the teacher workshop. Make sure you check out Thursday's session descriptions and schedule and include the workshops when you register. Those attending the workshops are invited to stick around afterwards for CCTM's awards reception, where you can meet and learn about excellent teachers being honored by both CCTM and PAEMST.
